This show is Tonight in Montclair, CA. It features Le Zets (Montclair) VVHITFVZZ (Downey) Brahms (SGV via Baldwin Park) The Lowered (Pomona) Megan Brown (artist/painter) and zines, stickers and print material by Still LIfe Press.
This is a D.I.Y show at a card shop in Montclair (Magic: The Gathering and such) it is $3 suggested donation and should be a lot of fun. Come out and support if you can, Thanks!

Kevin Greenspon a 626 native from the City of Industry/La Puente, Jon Barba/Nicole Kidman an ex-pat 626r from West Covina (now resides in Oakland) and Matthew Gray/Shivering Window not technically a 626r (Long Beach) but a definite SGV ally, are all going on a small West Coast tour. If you happen to be from any of the towns on the tour list and you like either ambient, drone, pop-goth, weirdoes or grumblebum D.I.Y. musics you should check it out. I promise that it would be well worth your while.

Hey everyone, thanks for sticking with the blog, even though it seems like I’ve been posting less and less these days :( There’s good reason why though, well, for me at least. I’ve been working hard trying to find a place for myself to work within the arts, being both a part time art instructor to preschool/kindergartners, and also being an intern for OCMA. I’m gonna limit my gushing, but it really is amazing to be working in the field I love and have passion for, even if it is tough and I’m just starting out.
On the bad side, I have very little time for other things, with commuting to OCMA and interacting with 4 year olds all the time, I get very drained and mainly use my tumblr time to look at silly gifs. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to continue to update 626 Arts…. on the contrary, I want to make this blog even better! However, I realize that’s gonna take a bit of help, so you can kinda call this an open call… I’m currently looking for one or maybe two other fellow 626-ers who would like to help contribute to this blog. There’s no pay or benefits, but I will send you virtual high-fives and hugs… if that counts for anything?
See how generous I am? Y’all didn’t even have to do anything for that ;)
Anyway, so there it is, if you’re interested in being a a contributor to 626Arts, here are the requirements:
-Must be from or living in the 626 (That’s San Gabriel Valley)
-Must love art, music, literature, poetry, anything that falls under the large umbrella term “arts”.
-Be able to make at least one update on an event per week and/or local artist (yeah, so I haven’t done so much lately, but that’s the low bar I’m setting for everyone)

Stuff going on BEHIND THE ORANGE CURTAIN!
it’s still 626 relevant though, because there are some great opportunities here for any artists and inventors, the only requirement is that you are a student (for the paint machine contest), the DIY contest is open to everyone!
I’m an OCMA intern, so message me (don’t go anon, that way I can get back to you!) if you need any more information.
*Side note, if you haven’t already, I recommend making the trek to Newport to see the current Richard Jackson retrospective at OCMA.
Today is the third and last day of the San Gabriel Valley Literary Festival.
If you haven’t gotten a chance to go to one of the previous events yet and looking for something to do on this lazy Sunday, the event will be taking place from Noon to 9pm in West Covina.
